Different paint jobs need different approaches but heritage work is in a league of its own. You can’t just assume that painting a heritage building or home with four of five different colours is heritage painting at all. We believe that unless you have worked in close relationship with the South Australian Heritage Trust (which we have) you are just taking a stab in the dark. Anything un researched, painted under the guise of “heritage”, is just that. There’s a lot to be taken into consideration before you even begin for example, what type of materials best suit the era? A proper heritage paint job /restoration, is something to behold.

Rendering

For great kerb appeal we can render the front of your home at a reasonable price. If you have a feature wall in your backyard or a blue board wall we’ll do that too. Wallpaper

We have spent from the mid seventies to late eighties hanging a lot of wallpaper. We then spent a lot time in the early nineties removing a lot of wallpaper for customers who vowed that they would never have wallpaper again. It seemed that way because from the early nineties to around 2002 it was nowhere to be found. Even wallpaper hanging tools and accessories became unavailable in paint stores and hardware stores. Now however wallpaper is making a comeback with some stunning designs from Europe the USA and locally. We are thankful that we were around when wallpaper was all the rage because it has given us the opportunity to really get to know the product and prepared us for its amazing comeback.

Decorating Finishes

The decision to specialise in this field of painting & decorating is not for the faint hearted. It requires a lot of research, product knowledge and skill. It also requires a lot of formal training outside of the normal trade school curriculum. For example, for gold leaf “gilding” an intense Master class course conducted under a Master Gilder in Sydney for a period of two weeks (or similar) is a must. There are numerous decorative finishes from lime wash to distemper and marbling. If you wish to have a feature wall, an ornate ceiling rose or cornice decorated tastefully or pillars made to look like marble. You will find our services in this area of a high standard.
